What you should know about Verde Bahia Granite

About this stone

Dark green granite, brought from the state of Bahia, Brazil, with black and gold veins crossing a deep, almost nocturnal background.

Where it is used

Geologically it is a charnockite — a dense, hard rock. The deep green, which in low light looks almost black, gives it an elegant and distinguished air.

Good to know

Suitable for countertops, stair treads and window sills, when you are looking for a special, out-of-the-ordinary color.

FAQ

Common questions

Is every slab really different?
Yes. Natural stone forms over millions of years, so no two slabs share the exact same pattern. That is why we invite you to pick your own slab at the depot.
How often should the stone be sealed?
For granite, roughly every 18–24 months depending on use; a kitchen worktop more often than a wall cladding. Marble needs sealing more often. We tell you exactly which product to use.
Can you match a backsplash to the worktop?
Yes — it is cut from the same block so the colour matches the worktop. We discuss this when you order.
