Emperador Dark is Spain's classic brown marble, quarried in the south-east, in the Murcia area (Jumilla and Yecla). It has a dark brown, almost chocolate background, over which a dense network of fine veins in beige, hazelnut and white is woven — in fact natural concentrations of light calcite.
Although everyone calls it marble, geologically it is closer to a dolomitic limestone, a warm stone with a great deal of depth. Its dark tone makes it suitable where you want a rich, sober note with personality.
As a 2 cm polished slab, it works on countertops, window sills, stair treads and interior flooring. It combines excellently with light beige stones, for a play of warm contrast.
