Verde India is India's green marble, quarried in the Aravalli mountains near Udaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. It is based on serpentine, a mineral that gives it both its rich green colour and a very good hardness and shine after working.
The palette runs from deep, dark green to lighter shades, with fine white and grey veins that bring movement. It is also known on the market under the commercial name Verde Guatemala, although it comes from India.
As a 2 cm polished slab, it is used for countertops, window sills, stair treads and cladding. A stone with personality, suited to where you want a natural, vivid green that breaks the usual mould of stone.
